J&L Real BTS07 Bluetooth Speaker Quick Review by mark2410

J&L Real BTS07 Bluetooth Speaker Quick Review by mark2410

Thanks to J&L Real for the sample.

Brief:   Itty bitty beach / shower speaker

Price:  £15 or about US$20

Specifications:  Bluetooth Version: Bluetooth V3.0, Speaker Output: 3 Watt, Frequency Response: 20Hz~20kHz, Water Resistance: IPX5, Built-in Microphone for Hands-free calling, Power Source: Built in 450mAh Battery, 3.7V Charging, Input: 5V 1A, Battery Life: Up to 8 Hours, Charging Time: 2-3 Hours, Bluetooth Range: up to 33 feet.

Accessories:  A micro USB cable, a 3.5 to 3.5 mm line in and out cable and lastly, a lanyard.

Build Quality:  It would appear to be rather nice.  Feels solid, then coated in a rubber outer which seems all neatly done.

Aesthetics:  A charcoal black rubber outer with red speaker grill inserts.  That it has pretend ones on the back seems silly to me but the front of it, its looks not bad.  I like its clear angularity.

Sound:  Not bad.  Okay so it’s a little speaker so it’s never going to spit out proper lows, which is just physics.  Still it tries its little heart out.  It really has a good go and it vibrates itself silly in the process.  It’s really not all that bad in its attempts.  Now for sure it wipes to floor with what any phone can produce and its relative taming of the treble means it never sounds tinny.  It’s not exactly full bodied yet it has a good go.  The mid/bass range is where it’s really at.  The mids though, they are not at all bad.  If you keep it to very midcentric songs it pretty good.  Also the louder it gets the more middy it gets too.  The bass tried hard to keep up to the point when you make it loud the thing will vibrate itself across your desk.  Yeah that’s despite the rubber coating absorbing the vibrations and gripping the desk quite well.  It can go loud, I wouldn’t suggest pushing it really loud as its only o little speaker

As a speaker phone it performs very, very well, super clearly rendering the other party and I was told I was clearly heard too.  So if you need to make calls in the shower, well now you can.

Value:  Great.  Sounds half decent, rain/shower proof and doubles as a speaker phone, all for just £15.

Pro’s:  Water resistance.  Speaker phone.  Sounds half decent.

Con’s:  Seems to only come with red speaker grill’s.
